Seaton Town Council 

Elections for East Devon District and Seaton Town Councils were last held on 4 May 2023. The next elections will take place in May 2027.

CASUAL VACANCIES.

In accordance with Section 87 of the Local Government Act 1972 Seaton Town Council has to give notice when casual vacancies occur.

When a seat becomes vacant, Seaton Town Council is required to notify East Devon District Council and display a ‘Notice of Vacancy’ as soon as practicable. The Notice explains that an election can be called, if a request is made in writing to East Devon District Council by 10 electors from Seaton area, within 14 working days of the date of the Notice. If an election is called it must usually be held within 60 days of the notice.
