Cheryl moved to Seaton in 2019 with husband Neil who is also a Seaton Town Councillor. Apart from realising a lifelong dream of living by the sea, Seaton was chosen for its strong community spirit and the range of facilities on offer.
An active member of the community, Cheryl has volunteered for the Tramway, The Gateway and the Tourist Information Centre during the summer. A member of The Seaton Twinning Association, U3A and LED Seaton fitness centre, she is keen to promote and support access and opportunity for all to participate in a wide range of activities.
Living in Seaton she is well aware that the town is in need of investment to improve the look of the seafront and enable the town centre to thrive. This can be achieved by working together with stakeholders such as EDDC, DCC, Seaton Chamber and other community groups, for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
Cheryl gained business experience through a varied career as a chartered accountant followed by roles in finance with large companies, before running her own small business providing project management services.
About Seaton, Devon
Seaton is the only gateway town to the Jurassic coast where rocks from all three geological periods can be viewed in their natural environment: fossil bearing Jurassic rocks to the east, the vibrant Triassic cliffs just before Seaton harbour and the striking white outcrop of Cretaceous chalk cliffs of Beer.
