Born in Manchester, Neil attended Sir Thomas Rich’s Grammar School in Gloucester, then studied business at Liverpool and Reading and Personnel Management in Slough. He worked in a number of roles finishing in sales of energy trading and retailing software across Europe, USA and Australia.
Following the premature death of his oldest friend aged 55, Neil and his fellow councillor wife Cheryl Wood took the bold step to quit the rat race, pack a rucksack and travel.
In 2019 they settled in Seaton and they love living in this amazing town.
Neil volunteers at The Gateway Theatre, Tourist Information Centre, outdoor film nights and Seaton Summer events. He is a member of Seaton Twinning Association and Seaton U3A.
Neil stood for Seaton Town Council because he wants to make a difference and make Seaton an even better place to live. He is passionate about giving the residents and business community what they want and not what the ‘politicians’ think they want and build on the existing cooperation between STC, EDDC, DCC and Seaton Chamber, achieve more funding from wherever available and, ultimately, a fabulous shiny new sea front.
About Seaton, Devon
Seaton is the only gateway town to the Jurassic coast where rocks from all three geological periods can be viewed in their natural environment: fossil bearing Jurassic rocks to the east, the vibrant Triassic cliffs just before Seaton harbour and the striking white outcrop of Cretaceous chalk cliffs of Beer.
